Serial Subscription Request Form for Faculty

The Serials department acquires and maintains the periodicals, newspapers, abstract services, indices, annuals, and other materials issued periodically, in all formats, to which the Library subscribes. In addition, many periodicals not specifically subscribed to by the library, are available fulltext in databases USM or the Univesity of Maine System subscribes to.

Periodicals, newspapers, and many special microform collections are housed in the Serials department. Staff assistance with accessing and copying materials is available in the Serials office on each campus, and in Portland, at the Serials Information desk.

Although acquired and maintained by the Serials department, indices, classified serials, and some microform collections are housed in the Reference department. Many indices are also accessible electronically on Mariner.

Information on USM's periodical and newspaper holdings can also be found in the URSUS catalog and in MULS (Maine Union List of Serials). Lists of holdings by title are available in computer printout format in the library on each campus.
