Food is not allowed in the library, except in designated
areas during scheduled social events or in the designated
Cafe areas.
The consumption of beverages (covered containers are preferred)
is allowed at desks, carrels, tables, and reading areas--never
among the book and periodicals shelves or near computers,
photocopiers and other equipment.
Food and beverages are prohibited entirely in the Osher
Map Library and Archives/Special Collections Department.
Laptop Loan Program
Laptops may be borrowed from the
Circulation Desk by any student, faculty or staff with a
valid USM Card.
Laptop loan period is two (2) hours,
or up until one half hour before closing.
Laptops may be used in Glickman or
Gorham Campus Libraries only.
There are a number of group study rooms
at USM Libraries. Each room is a privately enclosed space,
allowing for groups to work together without disturbing other
library patrons. Library patrons can use any of these rooms
to study in groups or to work collaboratively on projects.
Reservations
Reservations for some of the group study rooms are
made on the paper calendars hanging outside each room. Simply
write your name on the calendar in the boxes that indicate
when you want the room. Note the policies below for how long
you can reserve a room.
